"The Mojave Desert is commonly qualified as an ultra-vast landscape experience. Directly confronting the substantial features which ground such perception, Gomez and Levant moved like insects across the desert. Physically focused upon the terrain while the acute eye of a VuPoint Magic Wand Scanner roved along their course of contact to expel pixels of the Mojave's particulate.
As distance clung to their investigations spatially, continually inducing a surrounding comprehension of the site, traction produced resolution, between the device in-hand and the grains of geological formations it strained to capture. Scouring the land, tracking and tracing this piece of our planet into the Mirage in its center.
Las Vegas is a design condition of anti-substantiality, a kind of total-surface where merging waves of energy becomes this disjunctive tract. Sliding their scanner along its slick contours occurred as its own form of hypnosis. Crepuscular photons ricochet within the nucleus embodied by the plastic casing of the Magic Wand."
